Our Initial assessment is a needs-based assessment leading to specific recommendations concerning risk management, placement and therapeutic needs. The assessment process consists of a professionals’ meeting with the referring agency and other relevant professionals, reading relevant case documentation and undertaking assessment interviews with the young person and with parents/carers. A full assessment report is produced covering detailed evaluation of needs, assessment of risks and the prognosis for change together with recommendations about how these may be best addressed.

An assessment may identify areas where family work is indicated, which can be undertaken by the referring agency with G-map's assistance or provided directly by us.
