Empowering positive change through comprehensive, evidence-based intervention and support. We’re committed to addressing inappropriate and harmful sexual behaviour in young people by delivering tailored, holistic therapeutic programmes. We combine expertise, compassion, and proven methods to create meaningful, lasting change.
G-map offers Initial Assessments and Comprehensive Assessment and Intervention Packages
The Initial Assessment is aimed at producing a timely needs-based assessment for children and young people in respect of their inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviour. It includes a brief overview of the young person’s background, an assessment of risks and needs using the AIM3 model, and recommendations, which include supervision and intervention needs.
The Comprehensive Assessment and Intervention package is of 26-weeks duration. A report is produced at 20 weeks, which includes a comprehensive overview of the young person’s background, an assessment of risks and needs using the AIM3 model and the Good Lives framework, psychometric assessment (where relevant), a formulation regarding the pathway to the sexual behaviour concerns, and recommendations, which include supervision and intervention needs. The progression of the work plan is individualised to each young person’s needs, but generally includes work on emotions, relationships, trauma and attachment, developing strengths and resilience, sexual education, an assessment of sexual interests and attitudes, and self-management of risk. G-map use the Good Lives Model as a framework for assessment and intervention.

For young people aged 12 and over, G-map provides structured therapeutic programmes designed to address harmful sexual behaviours and encourage growth. Our programmes incorporate individual and carers involvement, and continuous reassessment to ensure a comprehensive approach.
We can partner with residential care establishments to offer inclusive, intensive programmes for those requiring high levels of supervision and support. By integrating psychological, behavioural, and social frameworks, we empower young people to achieve meaningful change.
From weekly therapeutic sessions to ongoing professional support, we provide interventions that integrate psychometric testing, progress reviews, and tailored guidance for carers and professionals.
Therapeutic interventions for children under 12
G-map’s therapeutic services for children under 12 address sexually inappropriate behaviours with sensitivity to their developmental stage and unique needs. Our assessments gather psychosocial history, with particular consideration to family functioning, child development, attachment and trauma and sexual behaviour concerns to create a detailed case formulation.
Interventions, via weekly therapeutic sessions, focus on safety, placement, and tailored intervention priorities. By working closely with families, carers, and schools, we create a structured and nurturing environment. This approach ensures a comprehensive response that addresses the behaviours while promoting healthy development.
Assessment and Therapeutic work with children and young people at risk of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)
Consistent with G-map’s core ethos of reducing sexual victimisation in society, we have developed therapeutic services for children and young people at risk of child sexual exploitation (CSE). The Good Lives Model provides a positive framework in which to understand the complex needs and risks associated with Child Sexual Exploitation. Therapeutic intervention follows the format of G-map’s Comprehensive Assessment and Intervention package.
