About G-map

G-map was formed in 1988 as a multi-agency initiative to develop services in the UK for young people who have exhibited sexually abusive behaviours. We became an independent organisation in 1996 and are based in Greater Manchester, in the UK.

For more than a decade G-map's staff have provided a purpose designed therapeutic assessment and intervention service for young people with problematic sexual behaviour. We are committed to the welfare of the young person and provide an optimistic, child-centred environment where the young person can develop the self-belief and self-knowledge they need to progress to a safe and fulfilling future.

Our core objective is to reduce the risk of sexual victimisation. We provide a range of quality services for children and young people, their families, carers and the professionals who work with them. We are committed to providing quality services to young people, irrespective of their race, gender, disability or sexual orientation.

We have received national recognition for the therapeutic work our service provides, particularly for young people with complex needs and high levels of concern regarding their abusive behaviours.

We support several specialist residential establishments and have partnership arrangements providing therapeutic services with several local authorities and independent providers.
